Elgin Number 1727067

Jeff Sexton

Here is another large, heavy 18 size watch. It's an older one, grade 6, 7 jewels, made about 1885.

It is a hunter case, full-plate movement in a tripple-hinged silveroid, open-faced case, showing typical wear but snaps tight. The watch is lever set, and sets and winds easily and smoothly. There are minor hairlines in the dial near the 7. There are blue screws and a beveled glass crystal with no chips or cracks. This watch runs well and would be a nice addition to any collection.

Here we see the watch with the bezel removed and the lever extended for setting mode.
